Craters of the Moon - Piano Solo Sheet Music by Arelius

This piece sat half-written for about a year. I knew what it wanted to say, I just had not been to the place that would finish it.

Then I visited Craters of the Moon in Idaho, a volcanic field so stark that the Apollo 14 astronauts trained there before they flew. Black lava in every direction. And on top of a cinder cone, one tree, alone, holding on where nothing should survive. I went home and finished the piece.

It is about that tree. Life holding its ground in a hard place, and being more beautiful for it. You are here for a reason.
